Times Colonist 10k-right now!

Me Running

Image via Wikipedia

Today is looking like it will be an absolutely steallar day to run 10k with 13 000 other people. Looking forward to seeing my run group this morning and also to participate in such an immense event. Can’t wait to cross the finish line!

If you know someone who’s running come on down ( by bike might be best as it will be pretty car unfriendly ) and cheer them on as they cross the finish line. Ya hear that kids-This is your father speaking!

The Hudson is looking better with every visit.

Indeed, so what I’m finding is that you really need to visit a new strata project you might be considering for purchase SEVERAL times. Just in doing my research for you I’m seeing that my affinity, as an example, for the Hudson is really growing. You go back and you discover something you hadn’t thought of before. With the Hudson, I initially thought, “ok, who is going to be the customer for this?” But in going back, I’ve discovered that there is indeed a lot to be excited about here. With an additonal two towers coming there is no doubt that this is going to be a high density corridor, that is not quite downtown but rather just on the edge of the core; perhaps akin to what we saw occur in Vancouver’s Yaletown, which was at one time on the edge of an urban downtown but now is itself a centre of attraction and a destination in it’s own right. So, in buying here, you can be at the leading edge of an entirely “new” district, a neighbourhood to be, as it were.

I mention in my vlog that while it’s not yet established like it is in the Cook Street village for the Essencia Verde, commercial and retail installations and all types of ancilliary services are only a matter of time away. When there are grocery stores, cool retail outlets, restaurants and bars, this will be an area that will draw the masses and will develop it’s own cache. When you say Cook Steet Village, people know exactly what you are referring to as an area; perhaps in time we’ll be referring to and area known as “Hudson”. In fact when you think about it, this area probably has more potential to be a destination because there is no doubt that you’ll be seeing a higher density, and definately a greater concentration of commercial, ie, services that the mulitidudes who will call this home, will require.

Next up in this series, I’ll be speaking to the realtors representing the sellers of both these fine projects to see what they perceive as the most attractive elements of their respective stratas .
